How to find us

Le Moulin de St Blaise is situated on a quiet lane between the villages of Chahaignes and Lhomme, in the Sarthe region of the Pays de la Loire. Because we are in a small French village, it’s easy to miss a turning. So let me tell you a little bit about your holiday location, and how to find us.

We are in a great location, right in between Le Mans, which is 40 minutes drive to the north of us, and Tours, 40 minutes to the south. With the ferry ports of Caen and Le Havre less than 3 hours away by car, we’re in the perfect location for travellers all across Europe.

Stroll down to the nearest village (about 1km away) for your morning croissants, or jump in the car for a 5 minute drive to La Chartre sur le Loir. This beautiful old market town is criss-crossed by rivers and has a diverse range of shops, restaurants and bars. So you’ll never be short of something to see or do, and it’s all within walking distance.

How to find us using three little words

Lots of our guests now use the ‘what3words‘ app. It helps people find homes and businesses more easily, and the 3 word address is frequently used on websites and business cards. To find us using the what3words app search using either of the following three word phrases, and you will come straight to our door. But make sure you type in the phrases correctly and in full. For the B&B the phrase is moonlight.lightly.overgrowth. And for the gite it is contentious.handhelds.dreamer

Getting to Le Moulin de St Blaise

We are only 20 minutes from junction 26 (Chateau du Loir) of the A28 autoroute. The motorway runs from all the way from Calais to the South of France, past Le Mans and Tours. If you leave the A28 at junction 24, then it is 30 minutes to Le Moulin St Blaise.

Coming from the North

If you are coming from one of the channel ports, then get onto the A28 autoroute heading south. This is a toll route, with a charge to pay when you exit. (Most bank cards are accepted, as well as cash, and the automatic toll tag). This will be signposted Le Mans and then Tours. As you go round the north of Le Mans, follow the signs for Paris for a few kilometres on the A11, but look out for the turning signposted for TOURS to pick up the A28 again.

Come off the A28 at Junction 24 (just to the east of Le Mans) and pick up the D304, signposted La Chartre sur le Loir. Stay on the D304 for about half an hour. You will pass through the towns and villages of Le Grand Luce, St Vincent de Lourouer, St Pierre de Lourouer and Brives.

Brives

From Brives, look out for the sign that you are entering LHOMME. Soon after this is a small road on the right Rue de Jericho. Turn here, and at the end of the road turn right again onto the D64b (not the first little turning). You will see a sign that you are leaving Lhomme. When you come to a sharp right-hand bend with bollards and conifer trees on the left slow down. The property on the left, behind the conifers is Moulin de St Blaise. You have found us! Turn into our property and park in front of the house. Alternatively, you can turn in just before the green railings, and park in the area in front of the twin garages.

When we are expecting visitors we are always home, just not always in the house. If there is no answer at the door, then come round the back of the house because we will be in the garden. Just ring the bell on the gate. Hopefully this helps you to find us easily, but if you do get lost, head for the centre of Lhomme.

Coming from the South

If you are on the A10 autoroute then you are heading north towards Paris. North of Tours, turn off onto the A28 (E502) in the direction of Rouen/Le Mans. Take the first exit at Neuillé Pont Pierre (toll charge of approximately €1.70). At the roundabout take the first exit onto D766 (Blois, Chateau Renault). Straight over the next minor roundabout.

Carry on until just outside Beaumont la Ronce and turn left at the roundabout. Turn left again at the next roundabout onto the D29, and in the direction of La Chartre sur le Loir. Continue on this road through the village of Chemillé sur Deme (a bit of a wiggle where you turn sharp left at the lights, go along for about hundred metres, then sharp right towards La Chartre sur Le Loir).

The road number changes to the D124 and leads you into La Chartre sur Le Loir. Turn left at the T junction towards the town, then follow the road round to the right across the river. Go straight ahead over a small roundabout, and past the school on the left. Follow the road round to the right again (and over another river), following the sign for TOUTES DIRECTIONS. Go past the lake on your right, then take the next turning on the left, the D304 towards Le Mans

Les Fougeres restaurant

Carry on over the little railway, and continue past a crossroads with a restaurant (les Fougeres) on the left. Over the speed hump, and at the top of the hill turn left onto Rue de Jericho. At the end of the road (sort of T Junction) turn right onto the D64b (ignore the first little road on the right).

Hopefully this helps you to find us easily, but if you do get lost, head for the centre of Lhomme.
